6. About the Artist
Who is Bex?
I’m an artist, a rebel, and a lover of color, beauty, and bold statements. My work is a fusion of pop culture, music, and iconic figures, created using my signature vinyl-on-aluminum medium. Basically, I sculpt in 2D, turning classic imagery into something fresh, sleek, and unforgettable.
Why vinyl on aluminum?
Because it’s badass! Seriously, I love the smooth, modern feel of aluminum and how vinyl creates crisp, vibrant details with a sleek finish. Plus, when the light catches the metal, it adds a whole new dimension to the piece—almost like it’s alive.
What inspires your work?
Everything bold and iconic—from music legends to fashion powerhouses and classic odalisques to pop culture moments that have shaped history. I’m inspired by artists like Lichtenstein, Warhol, and the rebellious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.
What’s playing in the studio while you work?
Music is always on—it’s the soundtrack to my art. One day, it’s Pink Floyd or Jimi Hendrix, the next, it’s David Bowie or The Rolling Stones. Sometimes, it’s just a deep dive into some classic French chansons (because why not?).
Do you take yourself as seriously as your artwork?
Not a chance! Art should be bold, fun, and full of personality—just like life. I believe in pushing boundaries, but always with a wink and a sense of playfulness.
Can I ask you anything else?
Absolutely! Drop me a message at bex@jpbex.com—whether it’s about my work, a commission, or just to chat about art and all things creative.
7. Wanna be a Muse?
Great art needs a great muse — bold, expressive, and full of personality. I’m always looking for inspiring individuals to collaborate with, whether for a striking odalisque, a new series, or something completely unexpected.
If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into a studio adventure, let’s talk! Respect, fun, and professionalism are at the heart of every session, and together, we’ll create something unforgettable.
And, of course, great music is a must! The studio is always filled with eclectic sounds, but feel free to bring your own playlist—every muse deserves their own soundtrack.
